Painting

I’m not a trained painter. I started more than twenty years ago as a way to entertain my kids, but quickly found myself absorbed—drawn in by the freedom of not knowing what I was doing. Because I wasn’t following any rules, I felt free to make mistakes, and often (though definitely not always) the mistakes turned out to be the best part.

Painting has become, for me, a practice of not knowing—a way to engage beginner’s mind not just as an idea, but as a felt experience. This room gathers work across that arc: from the early messes and surprises, to a quiet return in 2022, to what’s now becoming a slower, steadier rhythm of attention. Lately, bowls keep showing up.

Many of these pieces are no longer with me. But if something speaks to you, feel free to reach out—I’ll let you know if it’s available.
