living invention
This is not a thesis. Not a commentary. Not a biography.
It’s a meditative walk across the pages of the late Argentine author Julio Cortázar, in search of invention, joy, and what it means to read as if it matters.
I wrote it nearly thirty years ago, in a time of personal and professional rupture and transformation, and I’ve left it as it was left then: a nonlinear book written in conversation with the breeze of Cortázar’s invention, the experiences of my daily life, and the broader world as it was at that time.
